During the discussions following Rev. Keith Kron’s visit last month there was expressed a need to further grieve the ending of Rev. Tony Larsen’s ministry.
In the Jewish tradition of my family of origin there is a custom called “sitting Shiva.” This follows the loss of a loved one and in general consists of family and friends gathering in the family home to sit and tell stories of their loved one. It is a time-honored way to remember and honor a loved one who is gone.
To bring this tradition to us here at OBUUC during the month of March, I will be offering three different times that I am calling Circles of Remembrance for us to do just that. To join and share in the memories and stories of Tony’s ministry here with you. These will be held in the Sanctuary. All are welcome, no need to sign up. And if there is a need to do more, we will schedule more.
The times for the Circles of Remembrance are:
- Thursday, March 14th at 11 a.m.
- Saturday, March 16th at 10 a.m.
- Friday, March 29th at 6 p.m.
