IT IS WITH GREAT JOY THAT WE ANNOUNCE THAT OLYMPIA BROWN UU CHURCH HAS CALLED ITS NEW SETTLED MINISTER:
REV. DANIELLE LINDSTROM!

On Sunday, May 2nd, the OBUUC Congregation enthusiastically voted to call Rev. Danielle Lindstrom to serve as our new settled minister. Rev. Danielle accepted the call; her ministry will officially began on August 1, 2021.

Over the course of more than a week, the members of OBUUC had many opportunities to meet and talk with Rev. Danielle. She learned a lot about us, as we did about her.

From Rev. Danielle:
Thank you Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church!

What a week we had together! It was a joy learning more about you, your church, and Racine. One of the questions that came up most often was why I wanted to be the minister at OBUUC and I will say it started with your congregational record. From the beginning, it was clear that you are a community that loves and supports one another well, that strives to be radically inclusive, and is working to live into your vision of being a welcoming, inclusive, uplifting community, an active voice for progressive thought, and a beacon for social justice. Throughout the week, I saw this again and again. Thank you for your thoughtful questions and your warm welcome to me and my family.

I look forward to continuing to imagine what is possible together when I begin as your minister in August.

A warm welcome from Olympia Brown UU Church to Rev. Danielle, her husband Matt, their son Harvey, and their two cats: Simon and Watson. We look forward to the years ahead.

A huge “Thank You” to our Search Committee for their time and dedication and their love for the church: Addison Tower, Bill Garvey, Melissa Warner, Mike Rude, Abby Sommer, Analissa Follensbee, and Mark Lukow.

We would also like to express our gratitude to Rev. Eric Meter, who has been our Interim Minister during this pandemic year. We wish him all the best as he moves onto his new settled minister position in Canada. Although this year has been done on Zoom, he guided us, encouraged us, challenged us and inspired us. Thank you for all  you’ve done Rev. Eric.
